What Personal Information We Collect and When
We collect information so that we can make our products and services better tailored to the people who visit our site and do business with us. – Be forgotten (that is, have your data deleted and/or ask us to stop using your information for any purpose);
– Correct inaccurate information we have about you (and that means we will notify other service providers we use, and who hold your personal information for us, of those changes as well);
– Object to direct marketing and profiling (for example, we will remove you from our email list and from any list we have uploaded for the purposes of creating custom or retargeted audiences). We also encourage you to disable data collection services on your browser;
– Make complaints about the use of your data to regulatory authorities.
We will comply with these requests within 30 days.
Compliance
We make commercially reasonable efforts to work with data controllers (like our email provider) who guarantee compliance with privacy laws like the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation.
We store your personal information only for as long as it is needed to use it for the reasons you have consented to.
Occasionally we will revise this policy and will use your contact information to notify you of these changes if they reduce your privacy rights in any way.

This is an important legal document! If you do not understand these statements or any that follow, do not purchase our programs and discontinue use of this website.
Mental Health Policy
Coach Samantha Hanson is a licensed mental health professional in the state of Wisconsin. However, Samantha Hanson only provides coaching services to clients of Samantha Hanson Coaching and Consulting LLC. Coaching is not a substitute or alternative for mental health counseling, psychoanalysis or examination, or other mental health services. Do not delay diagnosis or treatment. Do not postpone appointments, go without or adjust medications, or otherwise rely on coaching as a substitute or alternative for mental health care.
In the event the coach deems, in the coach’s sole discretion, that coaching is not appropriate for you, coach will notify you of the termination of the coaching relationship. Coach is unable to provide therapy services to you.
As a licensed mental health professional, coach will provide certain therapy-style documents to you at the start of the coaching relationship, although therapy will not be provided. These documents are intended to explain how certain aspects of a mental health setting may carry over to the coaching relationship.
For example, while coaching is not subject to any privilege, coach does strive to keep communications confidential. [If this applies to you: However, there are certain instances, usually pertaining to self-harm or harm to others, that the coach will abide by mandatory reporting rules typical of mental health settings.
Coach does not provide letters for ongoing court cases or other purposes.

Confidentiality
All discussions will remain confidential. Samantha will not share any information about you to your employer, parents, friends, or others without your written permission except in circumstances described below. If you are under eighteen (18) years of age, Samantha reserves the right to advise your parent(s) or legal guardian about any updated information that could significantly affect your health or well-being. In such situations, the detailed information from sessions between you and She will not be shared, but your overall progress may be discussed in general terms.
Exceptions To Confidentiality
There are specific situations in which your confidentiality is no longer private. Samantha is required by law to report any statements of child or elderly abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities. Further, if you make statements that indicate you intend to harm yourself or others, Samantha is required by law to call medical and/or law enforcement- Samantha will have a conversation with you prior to making any phone call to make sure it is in your best interest, or if other solutions are more appropriate. If you are involved in a criminal case, a judge may order Samantha to turn over your file to the court. You must give signed permission before Samantha can share any of your counseling with anyone. If you give me written permission, you will have the right to designate who should receive information from your file, what information they are allowed to receive, the intention for which they will use the information and the period of time during which you are granting the permission. Examples of situations requiring a release of information include: certain inquiries from insurance companies, a new counselor wanting to use records from a previous counselor to provide continuing care, and collaboration with another agency or professional in your treatment. Samantha may consult and seek supervision with a mental health professional regarding your assessment and care. This consultation is free of charge to you. Any identifying information (to protect confidentiality) will not be revealed. All consultants are legally bound to maintain confidentiality.
Counseling A Minor
The information obtained from a minor through counseling services is confidential and will not be shared without the written consent of the minor’s parent(s) or legal guardian except for the following reasons:
- a) There is an imminent danger to your child
- b) Your child reveals information about mental or physical abuse
- c) A court orders the counselor to release the information.
Information contained in your child’s records will not be released to a third party other than in circumstances described above unless you give written consent for release.
Referrals
There are some mental health-related services that I may be unable to provide. In these cases, Samantha will assist clients with referrals. The referral process often requires sharing of information and completion of paperwork.
