What is the length of a session?

50-60 minutes is the most popular length of session; however, sessions can be accommodated at 30 or 45 minutes if necessary.

Where are the Physical offices?

Samantha no longer has a physical office due to high demand for virtual services.

Can we have telephone (non-video) sessions?

Telephone sessions are a last resort option due to safety of the client; Samantha prefers to be able to see the client virtually or in person to help with being present and in the moment, recognizing nonverbal body behavior while reflecting on situations that may cause discomfort. Samantha will ask that session is rescheduled if running late and calling while driving as this can prevent a safety concern that liability insurance on either end would not cover in the event the client is involved in an accident during session.

If at any time a client becomes a higher risk, with safety concerns and higher level of care or specialist referral is required, this will be discussed during or between treatment sessions if necessary.

Is there homework?

Homework is agreed upon on a case-by-case basis, like with different learning styles, some people prefer worksheets and others prefer to talk out case by case examples. If desired will be upon request and we will do our best to make it as easily achievable in the time the client has available.

What is the difference between Coaching and Therapy?

Therapy: When the past is preventing your future to some extent, and you need a safe place to process situations or help processing the present day with intense feelings.

Coaching: Not everyone needs therapy, some need an: Accountability Partner, Cheerleader, and or step by step help finding the way to achieve their goals! There may be some emotion but not to the extent therapy is required to move forward. At this time workshops are available for Wisconsin residents, individual coaching packages are not available. What Is Art Therapy?

Please Note: Art Therapy may look different with Telehealth services.

Traditionally, Art Therapy is an expressive form of “talk therapy”. If you have difficulty finding the words when it comes to daily stress or anxiety, using the senses and sensory output (being creative or hands on with the materials) can be helpful in identifying and expressing your needs. In creating and discussing through art, it may be less stressful to recall memories or events alone. The act of creating can be mindful, meditative and relaxing from using repetitive movements. Art Therapy can also be used as a method of distraction from stress.
