Spring reminders

My goodness. I’m not very good at this blogging thing.  So much to say and too scattered to remember to write it down!  Here’s a list of things I need to write about:

Fatigue sucks, especially when it takes over all free time.

I’m trying the exercise thing again! Hopefully it will stick.

I’m finally going to be an art therapist! (once I mail in my forms)

Technology and work frustrations. Joy

Still single, the joys of internet dating.

Enough for now, will return before summer 🙂

Fall already!!!

Fall is here everybody!  I’m busy as ever, doing Mary Kay and starting as an Art Therapist in a new mental health facility!!!

We opened August 1st, and we currently have no wait period. Located in West Allis, Wi, 414-329-HOPE (4673). We accept most insurances and accept private/cash pay.  I offer Art Therapy, traditional counseling in group or individual format.  I am the only art therapist at this facility and am looking forward to sharing my skills with others in their journey of self-discovery and healing. Each treatment plan is unique to the individual, and we do discuss our route at the first meeting when gathering patient history.

This next month or so I’m busy doing booths at fundraisers and holiday sales events~ super fun!  Had two this weekend so I’m slowly getting my name out!  I will be leaving my assisted living job, while I love my residents and giving them activities outings and entertainers to brighten their days, I need higher pay and I know I won’t get that at this place.  I am so stressed with “office politics” and bullying from my coworkers, that it’s not worth it. I dread going in, so thank goodness I have my Mary Kay! My happy pink bubble. My unit is awesome, and I wish I were going to the seminar this fall called “fame” but unfortunately my budget is nil since I slowed down my hours at the old home, and I don’t have clients yet at my new facility, so I have to squeeze every penny I have to pay off car and insurances. (Over worked and underpaid, sound familiar?)

Anyhow, if anyone would like to try Mary Kay, I can send to go kits anywhere in the US! (we have no territories and can have the facial via skype or facetime or webcam!)  It’s super fun to share this stuff and I am looking to build my team! I do need 13 more faces by the end of this week (was given a skincare challenge of 15 for the month), so if your local (#milwaukee area), please contact me ASAP!  I’d love to share with you some of our new limited-edition lotions and lip balms, or our skincare in general! It is the only kind that works for me, for my oily skin and my acne.  Everything else dries or irritates my skin :-/ and our mascara/eye liner is the only one that doesn’t make my eyes burn! We have several colors including green and gold 🙂

Here is an update of my pages, please like and share!

July already?

My goodness! How time flies. Updates, still looking for Prince charming, still working with my awesome memory care ladies, still helping out in an expressive art therapy open studio at a local hospital, still in #marykay and loving it! And I am signing on to a private practice as an art therapist/counselor!!! We open Friday, so I plan to move in sometime this week!  Super excited! Hope to have my own private practice/ studio space someday:). This last week however I was in Dallas at a national Mary Kay convention!!!! Was totally awesome! I have many pictures and videos and will get some of those on next.  My Pinterest has product images. And my YouTube has videos, my fb has a mix of both as well as a manufacturing plant tour images! Such a wonderful experience. Meeting other consultants from around the nation, having girl time with my unit, and my new male team member, Tom! Friend from college took pity on me when I started Mary Kay and became one of my first facials! He loved the product so much he has decided to sell it! We both have Facebook pages, here’s mine:

Best thing I got from the plant tour, is while they recycle everything possible, the vitamins are turned into sand art by drying the vitamins and mixing with left over lipstick colors!!! As I said, an entire post will be images!!! I love my Mary Kay family. I feel like I belong. Plus, the company is extremely generous with rewards, and gives excessive free training for their independent sales consultants. We are not employees. We just promote their products.  Love the products!! New satin hands coming out, pomegranate! Anyhow, next post coming as soon as I can figure out how to link properly.

My Mary Kay journey

Hey all!  So exciting being in Mary Kay. Granted I’m not making much money yet, but that’s ok. Slowly building my team :). Last week I was able to share the spa collection with another memory care unit. The ladies loved it!  They had so much fun and want me back this summer for pedicures, hehe.

Waterless pedicures, which I was just trained on last night! I’m sharing this with everyone because I truly love these products. Although products sound like a selling word, and really what we do is share what we love.  I started a Pinterest board if anyone’s interested, have a video blog, on YouTube, share on twitter, have a fb fan page and my website!  If anyone here is interested, I can give you a hotline to hear more info about Mary Kay and success stories, you’d get a mystery gift mailed to you, unless you live close enough to come for facial!  Otherwise, ask your local Mary Kay lady for a hotline and spread the love!

A little about me and what I use in Mary Kay

I’m slowly understanding technology all!  Finally figuring out YouTube (maybe) but still looking for decent video apps. But I’m now sharing on google+, here, Twitter, fb and fan page!  Please follow me in my #marykayjourney and share with others.  I am meeting wonderful people through sharing this opportunity with others and offering pampering time in exchange for opinions on our products.  So far two other consultants I’ve found are Wild tree organic foods and PartyLite! (Home decor candles fragrances) will post their websites later otherwise comment and I’ll send directly to you sooner!

I’m looking for a decent video app if anyone has recommendations.  I’m also looking for more awesome people to join my team!  If you need a change and want an awesome fun way to make money and friends, and confidence, contact me for a talk. Anyone anywhere, no territories and yes men are in Mary Kay!

My new YouTube video! I shared our satin collection with some ladies in a memory care unit, it was wonderful! They enjoyed it so much, trying new things and commenting about how soft their skin felt and how relaxed they looked and felt after!  It was so nice to do that for them. I will be going back this summer with waterless pedicures 🙂

Waterless pedicure?

Believe it or not, that is our end of the month event.   Check out my website http://www.marykay.com/shanson to purchase! And please like my fb page https://m.facebook.com/shanson.ibc 🙂

I believe it will be done using our lemon parfait Pedi set, which is limited offer product. So, if you love your lemony scent, now’s the time to get it!  Omg. I love all the scents we have. Satin hands peach is amazing, vanilla sugar is sweet, and even the foundation primer is soft and air light under my mineral powder foundation.  Our clear proof acne system has even helped tame down my flare ups without drying my skin out!!!  It is a product comparable to proactive, I believe people have blogged about the differences, just like with our skinvigorate cleansing brush.  Two speed massage, rotating soft bristles, feels amazing and cleans 85% more than when using hands and rag.

For anyone going through chemo, you need soft, amazing, comfy items. Makes a world of difference to have good smelling or fragrance free, (we have both) hydrating lotion that lasts for days between uses and is made using natural products specifically hypoallergenic and or sensitive skin. Mine got so sensitive when I went through chemo, sensitive and dry and itchy although, sometimes it had moods wings and became super oily. Anyway, I wish I would have had this amazing lotion then.

Excitement

When I was at career conference, I received a card in my registration pocket. This card said I love my Mary Kay because…. I didn’t know what to say until today after receiving a few no’s for parties and I had to share. It starts with the logo to start something beautiful. It is the first thing one reads when opening up the starter kit packaging. It’s the first thing on the training materials, in fact it’s everywhere!!!!!! I think I finally understand why. One of my favorite things while discussing Mary Kay with individuals, parties, facials, etc., is to make one feel special, pampered, and to feel beautiful.

When I went through chemo in 2009/2010, I definitely did not feel beautiful. I gained 30 lbs. of weight from the medication, I was in severe pain for half the duration of treatment, and severely sick the second half. What did my mom do? She took me to Bart’s party store for wigs, she bought me purple eyeliner, fun lipstick and eyebrow makeup, and had me dress up for “photoshoots”, and she’d rub some amazing cucumber baby lotion on my bald head. It felt amazing and I felt pretty, happy, felt good.

With my Mary Kay kit, I am able to give that to others, through our spa kits or even facials, to feel good, feel pampered, and as I’ve been told, relaxed and beautiful. It’s more than an outside thing, it’s internal. That’s what I love about my Mary Kay.

My fb is officially public now if it wasn’t before everyone, so excited!  Here is my link, please like and spread the word. I would love to do virtual parties with y’all to make you feel special and relaxed!  It’s very important to take a break from stress, and I truly love our products.  I strongly recommend satin hands because it is just amazing.

Cancerversary

This morning, I was tagged in a birthday post full of ribbons.  It took me a minute, but then I realized people were wishing me a good cancerversary. 4 years ago, I was declared NED.  No evidence of disease! It’s amazing how quick time has gone. Since then, I graduated undergrad, and grad school, and started my first real life job.  I have grown so much with this second chance at life, and I’m So grateful to be able to share with others and be there for them.

Today I took my residents to Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, it was wonderful Irish music and dancing.
